MOSA Fundraising Celebration on May 16th!

It's time for MOSA's 4th Annual Fundraising Celebration, and this year we will be blessed to have our United States Congressman as a keynote speaker. Our theme is "This is God's Country".

Another big surprise is that the venue will be outdoors on the farm of Tom & Karen Morris. They have a covered arena that can seat all of us.

We are asking you to invite your friends, family, neighbors and all those with an interest in missions. MOSA will provide a picnic style meal. It will be of crucial importance that we have your RSVP's so we can plan for food. We need exact numbers of how many people you have invited. You can email your response ASAP to mosa@mosaministries.com with the total number of people.

There will be child care for ages 5 to 11. Sorry, we have no provision for small children. This event will happen on Saturday, May 16th from 5:30-8 PM. We look forward to seeing you there!

Followship Seminar

If you are in the Hampton Roads area this weekend we would love to see you at our Followship Seminar in Currituck, NC. This teaching is designed to help you become a more effective disciple of Jesus Christ. The event will be held at Currituck High School located at 4203 Caratoke HighwayBarco, NC 27917 on Thursday 4/30 & Friday 5/1 from 7p-9p and Saturday 5/2 from 8:30a-5p. The grand finale will culminate at the Sunday morning Celebration service at New Life Christan Fellowship of Currituck (http://www.newlifecurrituck.org/).

What a wonderful time we had in church today (Sunday, February 8, 2009). The presence of God was so powerfully strong from beginning to end. The singing was anointed, the prayer was anointed and the message was anointed. We have been studying over the last weeks on "Praying with the Spirit". Not necessarily in the Spirit but with the Spirit. By hearing the revealed word of God and then praying that from Heaven to Earth. Not wasting time on natural prayers but praying the revealed Word of God into existence in our lives. "Not my will but thine be done..." Matthew 26. Upon leaving the church you could see where hope in the eyes of the people in the congregation had turned into faith. The faith that can move mountains and cast them into the sea. Calling the things of God in Heaven for our lives as though they were in our lives on Earth. God has revealed so many truths about this subject that we are developing this teaching into a conference, because we believe that God has given us this charge. To take this revelation wherever we go this year. We have learned the reward of obedience and we are willing to do exactly as He has asked. If you think that your church or organization would like to hear the Word of the Lord for today contact us and we will obediently be available.

When we delivered the food to Zuprii we could not help but notice the children who came with their own vessel or bowl to put the Gari into. They did not wait for the porridge to be made or even water or sugar to be added. They simply put it into their mouths by the handful and joyfully consumed it. It was as if it were Christmas morning for them. Your generosity in contributing to MOSA's Food Project made a difference! You can contribute to this project on an ongoing basis. Recipe for Gari Foto

Popular in Ghana and neighboring countries in Western Africa, Gari (Garri, Gali) is made from the tubers of the cassava plant. It is a starchy carbohydrate, used in the same manner as Rice and Couscous (though gari requires no additional cooking when it is eaten, it only needs to be moistened).
Traditionally gari is made at home: cassava tubers are first cleaned, peeled, and soaked in water, they are then grated, and the resulting mass is packed into cotton sacks, topped with weights to squeeze out the water, and allowed to partially dry and ferment for a few days. The grated cassava is then spread out to dry in the sun, pressed through a sieve, and dry-fried in shallow pans until it is completely cooked and free of moisture, and viola! -- gari. The finished gari can be stored until needed. Today, many people in (and out of) Africa use packaged commercially-manufactured gari that is sold in shops and markets. Preparing gari as described here makes Gari Foto: "Savory Gari and Eggs". Gari Foto is usually served for breakfast or lunch, often accompanied by red beans with tomato sauce.

What you need:
two cups gari
one-half cup warm water (with a little salt added, if desired)
one-half cup cooking oil (preferably palm oil or peanut oil)
one or two onions, peeled and finely chopped
two or three ripe tomatos, peeled and chopped (and two tablespoons tomato paste, optional)
one clove garlic, minced (optional)
six eggs, beaten
salt and black pepper to taste

What you do:
Place the gari in a clean bowl. Sprinkle the gari with water, spoonful by spoonful while stirring, to evenly moisten it. (It may not be necessary to use the all the water.) Stir with a fork or spoon. Cover with a clean cloth and set aside.

Heat oil in a skillet. Fry onions and tomatoes (and tomato paste) until the onions are tender, but not browned -- five minutes or less. Slowly pour the eggs into the skillet, while stirring, and cook them, stirring constantly (as in making scrambled eggs.)

Fold the moistened gari into the eggs-onions-tomatoes mixture. Remove from heat. Season with salt and pepper as needed. Serve immediately. Enjoy!

Food Delivery to Wa

This week we have been visiting the villages surrounding Wa in the Upper West of Ghana. It was great to see everyone and to administer the blessing of much needed food. We were able to deliver numerous bags of gari and corn. Gari is a fermented, gelled and dehydrated food produced from fresh cassava. It is a popular diet in Nigeria, Benin, Togo, Ghana and in other West African countries. We want to extend to our partners a heart felt thank you from everyone here for your support of MOSA's Food Drive.

Hello Everyone,
Well, we arrived in Ghana over one week ago and things are already as if we had never left. It is always good to be back and ministering with our friend's here.

Ghana has just been through a Presidential election in December and after a run off, a new man is in office just like in the USA. We are praying for both countries to realize the benefits of men who will seek after God for their decisions. We are also praying that Ghana will continue to grow in Christianity and progress socially.

We will be here in Accra until Monday the 25th of January and then we will be off to Wa and the villages there (like our beloved Zupiri). We are so looking forward to seeing everyone up there!!!

We are on our way to Ghana! Please pray for us today as we fly from Norfolk,VA to New York, NY and then on to Accra, Ghana. As we fly over the Atlantic Ocean, we are reminded of God's direction in our lives. It is our privilege to serve the cause of Christ and spread His love among the people of West Africa. We are excited to be reunited with friends and co-workers in the harvest field. We had a wonderful Thanksgiving at home with our family and trust you did too. We had dinner with our daughters Laura and Lisa in Norfolk and then went to Debbie's mom's in Virginia Beach for dessert. It is not every year that we are in the US for the holiday so we were truly grateful to be with everyone. Our prayers were with those less fortunate as well as people who do not have enough to eat on a daily basis. Each year all of the New Life Churches in Hampton Roads, VA come together to celebrate a week of faith-building, fun-filled events. DC Victory Campaign

We just got back from Kenneth Copeland's DC Victory Campaign in Woodbridge, VA. It was a wonderful time of fellowship, refreshing, and impartation. There was a great night of prayer for our country at the Friday evening service and we were happy to be apart of what God is doing here in His United States. Hawaii

We had a wonderful week of ministry in Hawaii!! Our time at Living Way - Maui was extraordinary. The congregation was warm and welcoming. One of the church members was gracious enough to have us in her home! While we were there we learned alot about the culture of indigenous Hawaiians.

The Followship Seminar was a great success and the teaching fell on good ground. Many in attendance came under the power of God which led to healing and deliverance. We look forward to a long lasting relationship with our brothers and sisters in the Pacific.

New Car

Praise Report: MOSA has been blessed with awesome partners. Last week a couple who has been supporting us since the beginning of this ministry gave us a 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee for use here in the United States! Thank God today for His interest in supplying our practical needs. Please pray for abudance in the lives of the partners who gave us this gift.

We have just returned from the UK and Ireland. We were able to accomplish so much! We had the privilege of ministering in two churches, Charasmatic Christian Centre (UK) and Port Laoise Family Worship Center (Ireland). It was wonderful to be with old friends as well as make new ones. While in England we were able to attend our godson David's 4th birthday party. It was a real treat.

MOSA has been blessed with the provision for a new Macbook Pro! Thank God with us that ALL needs are met according to HIS riches in Christ Jesus.

Please pray with us as we prepare for a Followship Seminar at Living Way Church - Maui November 5th through the 11th. Also pray for the upcoming Missions Conference at NLMI, our home church starting November 16th.

We are looking forward to having December to be with family and friends. We are ready for a time of rest and refreshment.

Pray for our return to Ghana in January. The Arts Centre Community Church in Accra and the ministry to the street people is continuing to grow. They are so on fire for the things of God! The children at Shephard's Home are also doing well and back in school. Pray for the villages in the upper west region of Ghana especially Zupiri. The pastors and the JCC's are faithful to the work and are doing well. We are blessed to know how they are committed to the work.

South America

Pastor Keith just returned from Guyana. He was happy to be reunited with the believers there, but was also intrigued by all the parrots!

Guyana (full name is Republic of Guyana) is a tropical country situated on the northern coast of South America.It is the only country in South America where English is the official language. It is bordered by Venezuela on the west, Suriname on the east, Brazil on the south and the Atlantic Ocean on the north.

MOSA has helped administer the placement of a pastor from Ghana, West Africa to become a missionary in Guyana, South America. MOSA is multiplying cross cultural missions!

Please pray for Pastor Selorm Dzorkpe and his wife Silasi (she is still in Ghana at the moment). Revealed Word Church in New York, pastored by Tony and Bridgette Fontanelle, has started a satellite branch of Revealed Word in Georgetown, Guyana. Pastor Selorm will work under their gifted leadership as a co-pastor in Georgetown with Pastor Norma.

Water Baptisms August 10,2008

We are happy to share with the you that this morning at Arts Center Community Church we had 24 water baptisms in the Atlantic Ocean! Water baptism symbolizes and appropriates our death, burial and resurrection with Christ. It means identification with Christ. Thank God for the dedication of these church members and please pray for them to be blessed in all that God desires to do with their lives.

"Therefore we were buried with him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life." (Romans 6:4).
